People who come to the shelters reserved for children and women have suffered  a lot of humiliation especially by the hands from which they expected love. This could be demoralizing for them and many do not get past such torture, especially older kids. They choose to be criminals and probably choose different forms of crime to vent their anger on the people who let them down. They resort to rapes, robberies, assaults, battery and some even commit homicide. Children who reach the age of 10 and 11 go out into the streets with barely a care for themselves or for the rest of the world.

In shelters, the women and children are given the motivation to continue with their lives in spite of all the setbacks they have had to face. Such shelters energize the women, give them positive feedback and provide adequate counseling at regular intervals. There are several organizations that provide dedicated service to families in dire need of therapy and through proper counseling, they aim to bring back the lost glow of their lives. This is done particularly to women and children who ran away from home fearing domestic violence. Although they should watch out for violent youth, the employees at such shelters should be very understanding and loving and they should go about their duties with a great deal of responsibility and dedication. It should be something they do with all of their heart and only a person who can empathize with them will be able to do the job well.
