This leads us to one of the first things resume reviewers usually see: the objective statement. Objective statements are about what you and what you want. This goes directly against our advice to remember that resumes are not about you. What can you do? The most effective resume are focused resumes, but clearly an objective statement is not the best way to create that focus. The solution is a qualifications summary . A well-written qualifications summary will take the place of an objective, immediately conveying the focus of the resume while emphasizing exactly what it is you bring to the employment table that will set you apart from other applicants. In other words, a qualifications summary is employer-centered rather than self-centered.
Try to be specific while mentioning your core competencies. Practically speaking, when it comes to write resume, you cannot add fillers. These fillers or irrelevant information would bog down or fail to impress the employer. Therefore, it is necessary to present detailed information only about your qualification, experience and practical knowledge you possess.
In the job search process, your cover letter is your first opportunity to explain why your experience is a good fit for the companys needs. You will want to highlight all of the similarities between the work that is outlined in the job description and the experience that you have accumulated throughout your continued education and volunteer work. Most employers do not make hiring decisions based soley on a beautiful cover letter or well-written resume, but this is your chance to sell them on how you can add value to their organization and team.
Never highlight in your resume the lack of your professional experience. It is understood that as a fresh graduate you are not expected to have much professional experience. Mention any summer jobs or internships that you did. Though it may not be directly connected to the job profile, it will show the skills that you have got in those jobs.
