Naiara Reinders. resume. August 27th , 2017.
Your resume will either be chosen as a keeper - or relegated to a pile of that will "be kept on file if a job should match your qualifications." (How often have your either heard or read those words before?)
Are you struggling to understand the proper way to write a resume that will highlight your skills and accomplishments, giving you that competitive edge in the job market? In order to help make your resume successful and catch the hiring managers eye, ensure the finished product is clear, well thought out, easy on the eye and fits the requirements of the position you're aiming for.
Certifications are proof that the writer takes her skill seriously and is committed to professional excellence. It is surprising for many people to hear that there are professional associations for resume writers, but there are! Two of the best known include NRWA and PARW/CC, and many professional resume writers belong to these and other associations that serve the career coaching and employment services profession in general. Most of these organizations offer their own version of training and certification programs. It is possible to find a good writer who has not attained certification, but choosing a certified professional ensures that you are working with a professional whose work has passed the rigorous examination of her peers and whose knowledge of the industry has been tested. Some of the tests and programs are more difficult than others. The most significant certifications have prerequisites, test a number of areas of competence, use a blind assessment process, and have annual training requirements to maintain the writer's skill and certification.
